The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is responsible for facilitating growth and development in downtown Grandville, in order to ensure the downtown's stability in the Grandville community.
The DDA is also responsible for maintaining and improving physical attributes of the downtown. The designated district of the DDA is generally located downtown and along the 28th Street and Chicago Drive corridors.
The DDA invests in downtown by purchasing and selling property, developing and maintaining public spaces such as parking areas, and providing assistance for business owners to improve the appearance of their buildings.
The DDA was established in 1984 in accordance with Michigan State Law, Public Act No.197 of 1975. It is a 9 member board that is appointed by the City Council. The majority of DDA board members are business and property owners from within the district.

The DDA is funded only with tax increments that have been generated within the district since 1984.
The DDA meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 8:00 AM in the City Council Chambers. For a current meeting schedule, click here.

Since its creation, the DDA has been involved in over 21 projects with an approximate investment value of over $3.7 million. These projects include:

- Buck Creek Trail Connection to the Grand River/Kent Trails
- Multiple parking lot improvement projects
- Property acquisition and redevelopment projects
- Landscaping projects
- Façade improvement program
- Landscaping maintenance
