May 11 & 12

The City of Grandville will hold its Annual Spring Cleanup on May 11 (8:00am-7:00pm), and May 12 (8:00am-2:00pm)

City cleanup guidelines will be the same as last year.  Grandville residents may bring yard waste, brush, scrap metal, metal/steel appliances (without freon), and concrete to The Department of Public Works, 4095 White Street.  This service is for Grandville residents only. One load per household will be accepted, with identification required at the gate. Bagged grass clippings and other yard waste must be in paper bags. All materials must be unloaded in designated areas in the Public Works yard.  There will also be a waste oil disposal receptacle available this year on site. There will be workers at the gate and in the yard to direct you to the proper dumping location.

Items not being accepted include, furniture, carpet, residential construction waste, shingles, treated wood, garbage, household trash, and fencing.

Free electronics recycling also will be offered .  Items that will be accepted are:  televisions, CRT monitors, LCD monitors, computers, laptops, printers, fax machines, copiers, VCR's, keyboards and mice, DVD players, microwaves, stereos, speakers, miscellaneous cables, computer parts, telephones, game consoles, handheld electronic devices (Ipods, CD players, Gameboys, etc.).

Check the City of Grandville website (www.cityofgrandville.com), or call the Public Works Office (538-1990) for further information.

Hazardous Wastes:

Hazardous waste, household chemicals, paint or pesticides will not be accepted. For hazardous waste drop off, call Kent County DPW Resource Recovery at 336-2570.  A Guide to Waste Management Options and Alternatives, provided by Kent County DPW will be available at the gate.
