City of Grandville Election Information

Questions may be addressed to the Clerk’s office at either 724-1906 or 530-4976.  Our hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

2008 Election Dates:

            Primary Election - Tuesday, August 5, 2008

The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 5.  You will be allowed to vote either Republican or Democratic for federal, state and county offices.  Precinct Delegates will also be elected in this election.  To have your name placed on the ballot as a Precinct Delegate you must file an Affidavit of Identity with your local or county clerk by May 13 at 4:00 pm.  The last day to register to vote prior to the August Election is July 7.

Presidential Election - Tuesday, November 4, 2008

This is the date of the Presidential Election.  This ballot will have many issues on this ballot and we do expect a large turnout.  The last day to register to vote prior to the Presidential Election is October 6.

Changes in Precinct Locations:

Growth in the City and stricter security standards in our schools have necessitated changes in polling place locations.  The citizens of Grandville have been well-served by the Grandville Public Schools, Grandville Christian School, and Fellowship Chr. Ref. Church. Beginning with the May 6th Election five of our precincts will be in new locations.  This is very exciting for those who work in the Clerk’s office - changes in routines and new challenges.

We have been working with representatives from the new locations and City Council has authorized the changes. New voter ID cards will be sent early in March to the voter that will be using a new location for voting.  The voter ID card will tell you your assigned polling location and that is where you must vote on Election Day.

If you know which precinct you are assigned to, the following table will help you determine the location.
