PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

JULY 11, 2007

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nicely in the Council Chambers at 7:02 p.m.

Present: Jack Bengtson, Randy Hartgerink, Gene LaSarge, Steve Zinger, Craig Nicely, and Bob Poll

ABSENT: Absent: Steve Maas

ALSO PRESENT: Matthew Butts

Motion by Steve Zinger, seconded by Gene LaSarge to approve the agenda as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

Motion by Jack Bengston, seconded by Steve Zinger to approve the minutes of the June 6, 2007 meeting as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Calvin Crest Park Improvements

Matthew Butts reviewed the plans to add 2 tennis courts and a 20’ x 20’ pavilion to Calvin Crest Park. The project is identified in the 2005 Recreation Plan. Construction of the project is slated for late summer. The Planning Commission discussed the court surface and the construction of the concrete walkways.

Motion by Jack Bengston, supported by Steve Zinger, to approve the improvements to Calvin Crest Park as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

OTHER BUSINESS

1. Master Plan Language Update

Matthew Butts updated the Planning Commission on the status of the Master Plan updates. Val Lazdins of LSL Planning intends on having final drafts of each subarea prepared for the August 1m 2007 meeting. Matthew also updated the Planning Commission on the subcommittee addressing the X-Rite property.

Motion by Jack Bengston, supported by Gene LaSarge, to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
