OLD BUSINESS
1. The Planning Commission discussed several items under its
annual review of the Zoning Ordinance.
- Fences - Proposed revised language for fencing requirements
was reviewed by the Commission. There was consensus that the new
language was fine, but some refinement would be made for corner
lots.
- Seasonal Outdoor Sales of Agricultural Products – There was
discussion of adjusting the timeframe related to outdoor
agricultural sales. The Commission decided to have staff determine
whether restrictions should be placed on this type of activity and
to bring revised language back before them.
- Accessory Buildings – The conversation continued on the
appropriate restrictions on accessory buildings. The Commission
discussed the current language and possible changes. There was
some discussion of revising the language to incorporate the
additional size permitted for the extra accessory building (shed).
- Recreational Equipment Storage – This new subject came up and
the Commission asked staff to include it in the list for future
discussion.
- Building Height – Discussion continued on increasing the
height restrictions for certain zoning districts and locations.
The Commission was comfortable with continuing to pursue the
concept.
- Commercial Uses – Dan updated the Commission that the DDA will
work on this subject as part of their Master Plan process.
- Special Land Uses – Changes to Special Land Uses will involve
reorganizing these uses to make sure they are appropriately
located in the Ordinance.
- Model Storm Water Ordinance – Copies of the proposed Model
Ordinance were included as part of the review. Staff will provide
more detailed review comments at the next meeting.
- Sales of Vehicles on Residential Lots – This issue has been
raised in the past and the Commission discussed limiting this
activity. Staff will work on some proposed language to address the
issue.
