PROCEEDINGS OF THE
GRANDVILLE CITY COUNCIL
Work session, March 15, 2004, in the
Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by Mayor James
Buck at 6:06 p.m.
Present were Council Members Robert De
Witt, Steve Maas (excused at 6:45 p.m.), Carole Pettijohn, Stan
Ponstein, Joe Sierawski and Mayor James Buck. Absent: Council
Member Ken Gates.
Staff present: Tammy Butler,
Assistant Finance Director; Ronald Carr, Assistant DPW Director;
Michael Chesher, DPW Director; Thomas Guinther, Treasurer/Finance
Director; Daniel Johnson, Assistant City Manager; Kenneth Krombeen,
City Manager; Mary Meines, City Clerk; Dennis Santo, Deputy Police
Chief; Vernon Snyder, Police Chief; Peter Versluis, 59th
District Court Judge.
Opening remarks were made by Mayor
Buck and asked City Manager Krombeen for comments.
Treasurer/Finance Director Guinther
asked for City Council comments on the following topics:

Administrative Fee
charged on tax bills – adjust to reduce cost of collecting taxes?

Leaf Program - increase
the cost of leaf bags to minimize the cost to the City?
·
Administrative group
market increases
·
Holiday
gift authorization
·
WCET contribution
·
Senior Neighbors Program
·
Christmas decorations
expenditures
·
City’s contribution
amount to employee’s defined contribution plans
·
Court budget – Judge
Versluis discussed the amount projected to be collected
·
Five-year Capital Plan
·
General Fund, Water Fund
and Motor Pool proposed budget line items
Motion by Council Member Pettijohn, and seconded by Council
Member Sierawski, CARRIED, to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 p.m.
